So I Suck At Blogging...

Alright. It's a fact.

I suck at blogging!

For some reason, no matter how often I think about posting on our blog, I just never seem to get around to it or have the motivation the put those thoughts to actions.

So I'm not making any promises to try to keep up more and post more often.
I just can't do it!

That means, for any of you reading or following our blog, you'll just have to deal with the few and far between posts that I do make... Sorry :)

Now on to the fun stuff!

May was a very busy month for us! Here are some highlights:

*Eric got a job with Apple working from home! This will be nice for his school schedule as it is very flexible and form fitting to whenever his classes are. He will be working full-time over the summer and switch to part-time when the fall semester starts. Fancy fancy! :)

*I started taking Zumba classes twice a week and exercising at the gym a my work a few times a week. Getting skinny suckkks! And it is taking FOR-EV-ER! ...such is life I suppose. If I had never stopped exercising, I wouldn't have gotten this large, right? Right.

*Eric finished is last Spring semester at ASU! Woohoo!! ..Well for his Bachelor degrees anyway. Just summer and fall left and he will be finished! ...Only I think Eric will never be done with school as he just loves it so much! Yuck! He will probably start right on into a Master's program. *sigh* I know, I know, many of you are thinking, "He should just keep going until he is all the way done, especially since we don't have kids right now & blah blah blah." I get it, truly. I just want to have him all to myself all the time!

*I got called into the Young Women's as the Mia Maid Advisor and I am just so in love with my calling! We don't have a ton of young women so we get to spend quite a bit of time getting to know each of them. They are incredible girls with such awesome spirits and they help my testimony grow every time I am around them! I am so thankful for the opportunity I have to serve them as I learn and grow from each one. I absolutely love my calling! :)

*Chelsea graduated from high school! Yayyyyy Chelsea!! Its weird that she is growing up, by I am so excited for her! We all had so much fun at my parents' house for the after party (although Chelsea did miss the FUNNEST part by going to grad night!)
I absolutely love my family! We are so much fun, if I do say so myself!

*We welcomed Dana into our family- she is an absolute doll! So happy for my uncle Kip! I think we might have scared her a little bit both at their wedding reception and at Chelsea's graduation... but hey, sometimes a family like ours takes a little getting used to! ;)
We love you already Dana!

*One word-- HAWAII!! Eric and I got to spend the long memorial day weekend in Hawaii and it was an absolute blast! (Pictures to follow soon!) It was gorgeous and the weather was incredible! Everyone should go. I will actually do a separate post just about Hawaii, so stay tuned for details!

Welp! I think that is all I have for now about May! Can you believe it's June already? Insane.

Exciting news for June already:

* My best friend Katie Humes is popping out a precious little baby this month!! I cannot wait! Congrats to Katie and Ryan!

* For this last part I am absolutely ecstatic for! ......Drum roll please.....
My parents are moving down here TOMORROW!! YAYYYYY!! I am just ever so excited! This will be such a fun adventure and I just love that they will be so close!

That is all.
Hope you enjoyed my little update for you!

Honestly, I don't know when I will be posting again... But hopefully my post about Hawaii will be up shortly!

The end:)

One Sock, Two Sock, Red Sock, Blue Sock

So the strangest thing happened to me yesterday! I must be losing my mind...

I woke up for work yesterday, did my hair, brushed my teeth, got dressed, put socks* and shoes on and headed out the door for work. (*disclaimer- I very rarely wear socks. I mostly wear heels to work and flip flops when I'm not at work.)

A few hours into work I was wiggling my toes inside of my shoes and something just felt off. My right foot just didn't feel right. I look down at my feet and my sock was GONE! Just disappeared! Right off of my foot! I was seriously perplexed.

I got down on my hands and knees under my desk and looked around. I couldn't remember taking my shoes off but wasn't exactly sure because I normally do. One of my coworkers looked at me strangely and asked what I was doing. I honestly felt very confused. I told him that I lost my sock and he just laughed and asked how I could manage to do that. I had no clue. I think that was one of the most confusing moments I've ever experienced. I KNOW I put BOTH socks on before I left the house.

I called Eric to tell him my very odd predicament and he just told me I probably just forgot to put the other one on. Not quite wanting to accept such a silly solution, I reluctantly hung up and just accepted the fact that I would have to walk around the rest of the day with one sock.

By the time I got off work and was on my way home, I had all but forgotten about my sock ordeal until walking into the house, and low and behold, there in our bedroom was my happy little blue sock sitting on the bed staring up at me... laughing.

I still have not a clue how my sock managed to get all the way home from work on its own.
Surely I could not have only put one sock on that morning.

I'm back!

So I have never really been great at keeping journals or anything (like a blog for example!) and I have figured out one of the reasons why... As time passes & I miss writing (or blogging) about things that happen, I feel like I can't post new things happening until I post the ones I've missed first so everything is not out of order.. but then I get super behind and just don't post anything at all. SO! This post is about giving you a readers digest version of our 1st year of married life so that we can get on with year 2! ...And hopefully I'll be better at this blogging thing this time around.

♥ Christmas 2009 was spent with the Duncan's- this was my first Christmas away from my family so it was a little weird, but of course I felt right at home with my new in-laws!

♥Looking back I've noticed a few of our first Holiday together were spent with other people's children. New Year's Eve we spent with the Huff children watching movies and drinking cider. Valentine's Weekend we had Holli's boys while they vacationed in Vegas. We do tend to babysit quite a bit- probably by default since we don't have any kids of our own. This definitely makes us the "awesome" Aunt and Uncle though! Since our apartments haven't been too kid friendly, with being small and not a lot of toys, we usually try other means to keep the children happy- from movies out, playing at the park, and going to the zoo.

♥The 4th of July we wen tot Heber with both mine and Eric's families to watch the fireworks from the high school baseball field. We played catch with a football, baseball & gloves, lost & found some of the children, snacked & got filibertos, and watched the awesome firework show!

♥The last week of July we went up north for me to teach show choir camp and to hang out at Grandma week. It was a long, exhausting, but incredibly fun week! The show we did was Aladdin and it turned out fantastic! I love my show choir kids, they are just amazing!

♥The beginning of September we welcomed CHLOE into our family! She has been such a fun, crazy, bundle of energy! She is a Valley Bulldog (a mix of a full-bred Boxer and full-bred Old English Bulldog).

♥The first weekend in September we had our 2nd annual campout of Love. We chose Mt. Graham as the designated campsite. We had our first little addition with Chloe coming- she was so tiny and cute! Everyone loved on her the entire time. She really loved being in the blankets in the tent.. it was hilarious! She kept going missing (scare at the time!) and we'd find her all snuggled up in the tent with no idea how she even got in there we we swore we zipped it! Alix & Ben came this year, so that was really fun! We had a wonderful time just hanging out, taking naps, catching up, and playing in the cold stream. The 2011 campout is going to be the beginning of a new adventure- KIDS!! Baby Boy Humes will be coming! (Congrats Katie and Ryan!) Their little bundle of love will be making his appearance sometime around July 4th. This will be fun!

♥Sometime between September and October we moved from our adorable townhouse in Scottsdale to an apartment in Mesa. We love the location- we're right by the 101, 202, 60.. and just down the street from ASU- which is great for Eric.

♥November 20 marked our 1 year anniversary. Hooray!! We went to Sedona and visited the Grand Canyon. It was very romantic and a wonderful getaway! The day after we got back I had Oral Surgery- No Fun at all!!

♥The day after my oral surgery was Thanksgiving (go figure!) and we went to Maricopa to Eric's sister Kym's house. It was very fun! Kym's husband's family was there as well, so it was a full house!

♥For Christmas, we spent the holiday in Queen Creek with my family- Heather was 8 1/2 months pregnant so she couldn't travel. We had a family football game, girls against boys.. The boys won, but we'll get them next time!!

♥This year for New Years we had a little party at our place. Matt & Danielle, Erica & Jake, and Shellie & Mark all came to hang out with us. We played Scum and Apples to Apples. It was definitely a great time!

♥January 13th I was able to be there for the birth of my first niece, Stacie Lynn! It was incredible. Heather goes through labor like flying a kite. She literally laughed the baby out! We all are in love with Stacie, and so glad for this new little life! Eric loves snuggling her and taking naps with her on the Huish's downstairs couch. She really is a bundle of joy!

♥The weekend before Valentine's day we had a chance to go up north to visit family. We took Holli's boys up with us as well. Valentine's day is a holiday I don't especially like celebrating. Honestly I think its a dumb holiday and I love my wonderful husband just as much on every other day of the year! I would venture to guess that at least 75% of guys only get their ladies flowers on Valentines day. Its expected I suppose. Eric and I went on a date to Gecko Grill and to see Just Go With It. No flowers, chocolates, teddy bears, or anything like that thank goodness. :) ..I did however, write Eric a PG-13 love letter- hey, just because I don't believe in Valentine's Day, doesn't mean he doesn't have to feel the same. :)

SOOOOO... that pretty much sums up our year! I will definitely try to start blogging at least every other week or so, to keep everyone up to date with what is going on in our happy little married life. :)
